 		Medicinal Martial Arts

A Martial artist who launched a shop combining sports equipment and oriental therapies says it is going form strength to strength. Colin Fearis, aged 44, opened Enso arts shop in High Street, Staple Hill, 18 months ago after being made redundant from his job as a printer. A karate and martial arts enthusiast, Mr Fearis envisaged the shop as a health and martial arts partnership with acupuncturists, herbal remedies experts and healers. He said “Martial and healing arts go hand in hand. They compliment each other. “Martial arts and breathing exercises are not just about punching and kicking. “They’re about you health and educating people too.” A health clinic in Mr Fearis’ shop is used by Henry McGrath, an acupuncturist and herbalist, Cillia Arthur, a hypnotherapist, and peter Glen, a Taoist massage and acupressure expert, all of whom have some kind of martial background.
